Analytics, session replay and cookies
Which analytics and error tools music24.com, the web app and the Music24 apps use, and what they record about you.
We measure how Music24 is used so we can fix problems and improve it. Here is every tool, by place.
On music24.com
- Cookie choice. A bar at the bottom of the page asks you to accept or reject. Before you choose, and after you reject, no tracking tool loads. Only Plausible runs.
- After you accept, Microsoft Clarity records how pages are used (clicks, scrolls and a replay of the visit), Google Analytics counts visits, and the Meta Pixel measures our ads.
- Plausible counts page visits without cookies. It always runs.
In the web app
- The web app shows the same bar and remembers the same choice as music24.com. After you accept, Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity, the Meta Pixel and our own analytics server record the screens you open and the actions you take. Plausible counts page visits without cookies and always runs.
- Once you sign in, these tools know you by an internal account number, never by your email address.
- When you accepted and then create an account or buy a plan on the web, we report it to Meta to measure our ads. Meta gets your email address only as a one-way hash. If you rejected, we send nothing to Meta.
- Error reports go to Sentry, hosted in the EU.
Change your choice
Click Cookie settings in the footer of music24.com, or open Settings → Legal → Cookie settings in the web app. The bar opens again. If you reject after you accepted, the page reloads without the tracking tools.
In the iPhone and Android apps
- Microsoft Clarity records how the screens are used. It hides what you type, sign-in codes, API tokens, plan and purchase details, the Team screen and every email address.
- Our own analytics server counts screens and actions. Error reports go to Sentry, hosted in the EU.
- These tools know you by an internal account number, never by your email address.
Questions
Does Music24 record my screen?
On music24.com and in the web app, only after you accept cookies. Then Microsoft Clarity records how pages are used, as a replay of clicks and scrolls. In the iPhone and Android apps it records how the screens are used and hides what you type, sign-in codes, API tokens and email addresses.
Do the analytics tools get my email address?
No. They know you by an internal account number. The one exception is Meta: when you accepted cookies and then sign up or buy a plan on the web, it gets a one-way hash of your email to measure our ads.
