Keep your fans with Pre-save Subscriptions

A fan says yes one time. Every new release of yours then lands in their library on release day, until they stop it.

A pre-save gets a fan for one song. A Pre-save Subscription keeps the fan for the next one. After a fan pre-saves, Music24 asks one question: Save every future release from your artist name too? A fan who taps Yes, save them gets each new release in their library on release day, and a short email that says it is out.

What your fans see

On a pre-save page, the question comes after the fan confirms the pre-save. Nothing is ticked in advance. The fan chooses Yes, save them or No thanks, and a line says they can stop with one click in every email.

You can also add a Get every release block to a SmartLink with no live campaign. It offers the service buttons and an email field, and its text says what happens when a fan signs up.

A new subscriber gets a welcome email. On each release day the fan gets one email with the release and, when the save worked, the service where it now sits in their library. These emails are in English.

Which services save the track

Spotify, Apple Music, Tidal, Deezer and Amazon Music save the track into the fan’s library. YouTube Music is email only for now: a fan on YouTube Music leaves an email address and gets the release email with a link to listen.

A fan can also subscribe with an email address only, with no service connected. That fan gets the release emails and no save.

Rules that protect your fans

  • Music24 saves at most 2 release days of one artist for a fan in 7 days. Releases on the same day count as one. A fan gets the email for every further release, with no save, so a fan’s library does not fill up. There is no limit on how many subscribers you have.
  • When a fan’s music service connection ends, Music24 sends one email that says Tap to keep saving, and no more than one every 30 days. Until the fan reconnects, the release emails continue.
  • Every email has a one-click unsubscribe. It stops the saves and the emails for your artist, on every pre-save of that fan. The fan’s subscriptions to other artists go on.

What counts as a new release

  • A pre-save campaign of yours, on its release day. Music24 releases it by itself when your catalog finds the released song for sure.
  • A song in your catalog that came out with no campaign. Open the release, click Send to subscribers and confirm. You can send a song released in the last 14 days.

See your subscribers

The Fans page of each artist shows how many fans subscribed, on which services, how many left a bare email, and who needs to reconnect. It also lists each release with the saves, the emails and the fans that Music24 skipped. The pre-save panel and the release overview say N subscribers will get this.

The subscriber list exports as a CSV file on the Artist plan and up. It has no fan ids, only the service, the email, the status, the date and the page.

Plans

Pre-save Subscriptions are on Artist, Pro, Manager and Label, and in the 7-day trial. Free has none. If your workspace moves to Free, the subscribers you have keep getting the release emails, with no save. A pre-save campaign that you made before stays live and still saves on release day. Questions

Does a fan agree to this by pre-saving?

No. A pre-save is for one song. The subscription is a separate question that the fan answers with one tap, and the answer starts as no.

Can a fan leave?

Yes, at any time, with the unsubscribe link in any email. The saves and the emails for your artist stop at once.

Does Music24 send my fans a newsletter?

No. A subscriber gets a welcome email, one email for each release day and the rare reconnect email. Nothing else.
