Playlists and "Track Playlist" by URL
See which editorial and algorithmic playlists are heating up, and add any public playlist by its link.
Public intelligence → Playlists shows the editorial and algorithmic playlists that shape discovery. Trending lists the playlists that are heating up. Top by Followers lists the biggest ones.
A playlist page shows its Followers, its Songs, Followers Over Time and when we last read it (Last Updated). Click Follow to add it to your watchlist. Playlist pages use no browse credit.
Add a playlist by its link
- On the Playlists page, click Track Playlist.
- Paste the public link of the playlist into Playlist URL. The dialog shows the Supported services.
- Click Track.
Your workspace now follows the playlist. We read it within about a minute. Until the charts fill, its page says "This playlist has been scheduled for analysis. Data will appear once processing is complete." The charts fill after the next nightly update.
If the link is refused
- "Could not parse playlist URL. Please provide a valid playlist link.": the link is not a playlist link of a supported service. Copy the share link of the playlist itself, not of a track or an album.
- "Playlist follow limit exceeded (50). Please unfollow some playlists first.": unfollow a playlist, then try again.
How often we read a playlist
Bigger playlists are read more often:
| Playlist size | Read again every |
|---|---|
| 100,000 followers or more | 24 hours |
| 10,000 to 99,999 followers | 3 days |
| 1,000 to 9,999 followers | 7 days |
| Under 1,000 followers, followed by a workspace | 24 hours |
Questions
How long until a new playlist shows data?
We read it within about a minute. The charts and the numbers on Home fill after the next nightly update, which starts at 03:00 UTC.
Can I track a private playlist?
No. We read only what the service shows to anyone, so the playlist must be public.
Does tracking a playlist use a browse credit?
No. Playlist pages never use browse credits.
