Compose and schedule a post

Write one post in Composer, tailor it per platform, then publish it now, at each channel’s best hour or at a time you pick.

Checked on Oct 4, 2026

Open Promote → Composer. You write one master caption, and Composer turns it into one post for each channel you pick.

Write and schedule a post

  1. Under Release, pick the release the post is about, or Not about a release. When the release has a published SmartLink, an auto-post adds the link on the last line of the caption, if it fits.
  2. Under Channels, pick one or more channels.
  3. Write the caption in Master copy, or click Write with AI. Click Tailor per platform to get a version for each channel, and edit any channel tab. Reset to master brings a tab back to the master caption.
  4. Optional: click Attach a clip to add a video you made in Promote.
  5. Under Format, pick Post or Story.
  6. Under Timing, pick Publish now, Best time or Pick a time.
  7. Click Schedule. Or click Save draft to keep it without a time.

The three timing options

  • Publish now: the post goes out within about 5 minutes. We check for due posts every 5 minutes.
  • Best time: each channel posts at its own best hour, so the posts are staggered. This is a fixed hour per platform, the hour each platform usually rewards. It is not a measurement of your own audience.
  • Pick a time: set a date and time. All channels post at that time.

Stories

A story goes out on Facebook and Instagram only, and it is gone after 24 hours. It needs a photo or a clip. In Story format, the other channels show no stories and cannot be picked.

Instagram and TikTok need a photo or a video. YouTube needs a video. With no media attached, these channels show · needs media on their chip (YouTube: · needs a video), and a red box says they cannot post text only. Click Attach media, or remove these channels from the post. Until then, Schedule and Publish now stay off. Facebook can post text only. Threads posts are not auto-posted yet: we email you the post to share by hand.

Save draft still works without media, because a draft never goes out. You cannot give such a draft a time until it has media or those channels are removed.

Attach a clip offers only a video that a Promote screen handed over in this session. To post an image or a video you made, click Post it on it on the song page, in Studio or in the Library. The Composer opens with the file.

How posts count toward your plan

A scheduled post takes one unit of your monthly post quota for each channel. A post to 3 channels takes 3. A draft takes nothing until you give it a time. When you cancel a scheduled post in the month you created it, the unit comes back. See Monthly quotas.

Questions

Can I post a story to TikTok or YouTube?

No. Stories go out on Facebook and Instagram only.

Does a draft use my monthly posts?

What happens on a channel that is not connected?

When the post is due, we email you the caption and the media. You post it yourself, then click I posted it in the Calendar.
