Use Music24 from an AI client (MCP)
Connect an MCP-compatible AI client to Music24 and ask it about charts, your follows and your reports. It needs the Label plan.
Music24 runs a remote MCP server. An AI client that supports MCP can read your Music24 data and answer questions such as "which of my artists gained the most playlist adds this week?". Like the API, MCP is part of the Label plan.
Connect a client
- Sign in at music24.com/app in your browser first, and switch to the workspace the client must read.
- In your AI client, add a remote MCP server with the address
https://api.music24.com/mcp. - The client opens a Music24 page in your browser. It shows the client name and wants read access to your Music24 data. The page says that the client can read the data of this workspace and that you can revoke it in Settings → API → Connected apps.
- Select Approve to connect, or Deny to stop.
How the connection works
- The client connects with OAuth, not with a personal
m24_token. It registers itself, then signs in with PKCE and asks for the scopemusic24:read. - Its access lasts 1 hour and renews itself for up to 30 days after the last use. After 30 days without use, approve the client again.
- The connection reads the workspace that was active when you selected Approve. Every member of the workspace sees the same follows.
- Each tool takes up to 30 calls a minute, and the answers follow the Label plan limits.
What the client can read
The Music24 MCP tools only read. None of them changes or deletes anything. The approval gives the client a read-only token: it can also read your data through the Music24 API, but the API refuses every change, every billing action and every account action it tries. It still reads everything in the workspace, so approve only clients you trust.
- Top artists and top tracks, by overall playlist visibility or by the biggest gainers on a day.
- Artist and track details with their playlist adds and playlist visibility on a day.
- The artists, tracks and playlists your workspace follows.
- The daily and the weekly report for your follows, with the top movers.
- The recent track adds and removals of one playlist.
The technical details are in the MCP section of the API documentation. For your own scripts, use a personal token instead: see API access on the Label plan.
Disconnect a client
Open Settings → API in the web app and find Connected apps. It lists the AI clients you approved for the active workspace, with the date you approved each one and the date it was last used. Select Revoke next to a client, then Revoke access. The client loses access at once: its tokens stop working and it cannot renew them. To use it again, connect it and approve it again. Signing out everywhere does not disconnect a client. Leaving the workspace, being removed from it, or deleting your account also ends its access at once. If you need help, email [email protected].
Questions
What is the Music24 MCP server address?
https://api.music24.com/mcp. Your client connects with OAuth, and you approve it in the browser.
Can the MCP tools change my Music24 data?
No. The Music24 MCP tools only read charts, artists, tracks, playlists, your follows and your reports. None of them follows, publishes, posts or deletes anything. The token behind the connection is read-only: the Music24 API refuses every change it tries.
Which plan do I need for MCP?
The Label plan. On other plans, the consent page shows an upgrade banner and the server refuses the client.
